Khanqah-e-Arifia
Nurturing Love, Peace, and Harmony
Khanqah-e- Arifia was established by Hazrat Makhdum Shah Arif
Safi Mohammadi (d. 1903), a Great Sufi of the 19th century from
the Allahabad region. Khanqah-e- Arifia has been spreading the
message of love, peace, harmony, co-existence acceptance and
tolerance and providing spiritual healing to the masses.
Khanqah is located at Saiyed Sarawan, Kaushambi, Allahabad
(India). It has been serving society through varied services since
its establishment i.e. 1886. The current Sajjadah Nasheen
(Successor) Sheikh Abu Saeed Shah Ehsanullah Mohammadi
Safawi, distinguished Sufi has established a public charitable
trust “Shah Safi Memorial Trust” in the year 2004, to disseminate
the vision and mission of the Khanqah in more systematic and
organized ways.
Khanqah also runs a society namely Khanqah-e-Arifia Welfare
Society which administered school i.e., St. Sarang Convent
School and further activities of Khanqah.

Reformist and Peace Maker of current
era. He is well-renowned Sufi in India
and abroad.
His magnetic personality, high moral
values, exemplary character, and Sufi
style of living attract people from all
walks of life towards him. He believes in
the traditional Islamic ideas.
A Source of Inspiration
Shah Safi Memorial trust is a registered organization. It
has many subsidiaries working on different areas such
as Islamic education through accredited Madrasas
and modern education through recognized Schools. It
also has a media house and publication division. The
trust emphasizes on the subjects which are seminally
related to socially compelled elements.
Encouraging Intellectual and Spiritual Growth
Jamia Arifia was established in the year 1993 with the
aims to provide modern Islamic education and also
bridge the gap between spirituality and intellectuality,
orthodoxy and modernity.
Jamia Arifia is recognized with several universities i.e.,
Jamia Millia Islamia, Aligarh Muslim University, Maulana
Azad National Urdu University and Jamia Al-Azhar Egypt.
Many of the students of Jamia Arifia are serving the
society in different capacities such as religious and
social reformers and preachers. More than 100 alumni
are also pursuing higher education in different
universities in India and abroad.
A Beacon of Modern and Spiritual Education
St. Sarang Convent School, Saiyed Sarawan, Kaushambi
was established in 2021. It is a need of time to establish an
ideal English medium school with aims to provide and
alternate platform to the community, who aligns the
modern education vis a vis to spiritual and divine values.
The mission of the school is to provide comprehensive,
inclusive, accessible and affordable education for all.
A Haven of Sufi Literature and Research
Shah Safi Academy is a dedicated research and
publication unit which publishes monthly and annual
magazines and does research on authentic reference
books like Khizr’e Rah (Monthly), Al-Ehsan (Annually),
Majma As-Suluk, Risala Al-Makkiya, Fawaide Sadiya, Maraj
Al-Bahrain etc. One of the objectives the publication unit is
to provide authentic Arabic and Persian Sufi literature
through translation in Urdu, Hindi and English.
Promoting Communal
Harmony and Peace
The trust is tremendously determined to organize at least
one program every month with aim to assemble for a
divine blessings and purification. And organize two
biannual programs on mass level on the occasion of Urs.
The trust also organizes the national annual peace
conference on the occasion of the birth anniversary of
Prophet Mohammad SAW. Other aims of this program are
to disseminate the message of peace, love, communal
harmony and co-existence.
Sufi Music (Sema) and Culture
One of the features of the Chishti chain is to
conduct Sema. This Khanqah also organizes
Sufi music (Sema) with an aim to save and
preserve the real spirit of Sema and provide the
platform to those people who seek spiritual
enlightenment and upliftment through Sema.
Conference, Seminar
and Workshops
Trust regularly organizes seminars, workshops,
Conferences and Extension lectures on various current
issues of Islam and spirituality in collaboration with other
organizations and Institutions.
Other Social Activities and
National Integration
Trust also works for orphans’ education, facilitate
marriage of needy people, distribute ration kits, cloths,
medicine and volunteer services to the needy and in
natural calamities. Trust also provides shelter and Langar
(mess facility) for all.
Khanqah has also been serving Langar (Mess facility) for Shah Safi Academy over 150 years availing more than 700 individuals.

With branches across India, the Delhi unit of Shah Safi
Memorial Trust actively upholds the trust's vision and
mission through diverse activities, including organizing
speeches, seminars, and Sufi spiritual programs, offering
educational guidance, extending financial assistance to
students in need, and fostering communal bonding
through Langar on various occasions.
In all its endeavors, Khanqah-e-Arifia and the Shah Safi
Memorial Trust illuminate the path to love, peace, and
harmony, empowering individuals to find spiritual solace
and contribute to the betterment of society.
